GP TT ASSEN - Qualifying session |
|

A sky as grey as the tarmac, but no rain at Assen. The 250 riders, being the last to qualify, risked the wet more than the others, but have been able to finish on a dry set-up. Hiroshi Aoyama got the best out of it, with a precious second place that puts him in an excellent position for tomorrow's race. A great seventh spot for Raffaele De Rosa, which gives him the second line on the grid. In MotoGP Yuki Takahashi had to fight against bruises, while Gabor Talmacsi continued to improve lap by lap his knowledge of the bike and of the category. Hiroshi Aoyama (250cc) 2nd - 1’40.192: "I've had a good feeling with the bike since the beginning. We improved constantly. Even in the last moments - not enough to catch the pole, but I'm satisfied: I'm in a good position, and confident for the race". Raffaele De Rosa (250cc) 7th – 1’41.023: "Very good. I'm satisfied with my second row. Tomorrow, the very first laps will be crucial: if I can stay in the leading group, it shall be a good race. We did a good job especially in fixing a problem that I seemed to have in a very precise point of the track. Then, everything went OK". Yuki Takahashi (MotoGP) 18th – 1’38.619: "The finger does not hurt too much, but I'm not able to use it as I would. The worst thing is the pain at my back. I've been told that tomorrow we can expect rain: it could help because as I'm not at my best, as fitness, a dry race would be more difficult for me". Gabor Talmacsi (MotoGP) 19th - 1’39.407: "I feel better and better. Every lap I improve. You can see it by the lap times: I get my best ones always in the last run. We arrived at a point in which we must begin to work on the setup to improve further. In the very last moments a couple of riders almost touched, in front of me: to avoid them I had to put the two wheels on the grass. Normal staff: it's racing".
