GP DE CATALUNYA - Gara

Busy days in and outside the track, at the GP of Catalunya. The Scot Racing team management is working intensely to provide Yuki Takahashi and Gabor Talmacsi, with a technical condition that allows them both to take part into the next race.

Hiroshi Aoyama (250cc) 2nd: "I'm happy and angry at the same time. Second is a great result. At the same time, my pace in the last lap was so good to make me suspect that, without that misfire, I could compete for the first place.
I did a good start - from sixth to second in a few turns. I tried to stay with the guys in front, but the problem I suffered obliged me to lose a few positions.
There were several friends of mine in the paddock, today - I've been living here in Barcelona for a while. And this is another reason by which I absolutely wanted a good result, here in Montmelo".

Raffaele De Rosa (250cc) 9th: "I had a good start, but with the tank full the feeling was not the best. Lap by lap the situation impreved, but in two points we wasted a lot of time. Had we found a solution, the result would have been by far better: I could finish afew places ahead".

Yuki Takahashi (MotoGP) nc: "I had a god start. I overtook De Angelis. Vermeulen was in front of me. My bike was good, and the feeling excellent. So I said to myself: let's go. He braked sooner than expected; to avoid him, I went out. I broke my little finger against his bike".

Gabor Talmacsi (MotoGP) 17th : "Not bad. Less tired than after some 125 races. After four laps, in which I tried to keep the pace of the others, I understood that that was not my rhythm, so I decided not to risk: this is learning time, for me. I had a lot of fun, and I understood a few things: for exemple, that I want a wider handle. The fever? Gone. I feel really well".

Emanuele Ventura (Technical Director):
"Aoyama had a problem of overheating. He found the right solution driving, from that moment on, letting the fresh air to cool down the engine. As far as Raffaele is concerned, we are going to study his problem to solve it. What a pity for Takahashi: we found a set-up that gave him confidence. The point is to qualify better, otherwise the risk of a crash is higher. Gabor: well done. We could not ask more, at his debut".
