INDIANAPOLIS GP - Gara

In Indianpolis, Hiroshi Aoyama got a great second place that strengthen his position as leader of the Champonship, with a brave and wise race. Raffaele De Rosa, not at his best after the crash he suffered on Sunday, decided anyhow to be part of the race and achieved a good eleventh place. In MotoGP, Gabor Talmacsi continues the complex work to prepare the bike to suit his needs.

Gabor Talmacsi (MotoGP, 14th): "
Session by session we improved - and this is OK. At the beginning of the race I was in a condition to attack, ad operated a few overtaking, and I enjoyed it. But to do so I had to ride constantly over the limit. In the second part of the race it was a struggle. This is what worries me most: we have to find something big to improve".

Hiroshi Aoyama (250cc, 2nd): "All in all, I'm satisfied. My crash in the morning was not huge, but the bike was badly damaged in some parts, and my crew had to show all their ability to fix it. Nevertheless, we lost time and were not able to check all the aspect of the new set-up that we had prepared for the race. So, in the last laps, when I saw that to get the victory I had to risk a mistake, I decided that getting these 20 points was too important. Yes, it is a very good result".

Raffaele De Rosa (250cc, 11th): "The shoulder was not a problem, but my left leg was. Bruised and battered as it was, I could not use it as I wanted. I was forced to take no risks. It was a pity because my feeling with the bike was great and my Honda was very strong on the brakes. But I was not in the condition to take advantage from it. In my opinion, in a normal situation, a 5th/6th place could be mine".

Emanuele Ventura (Technical Director): "The first laps say that Gabor has potential; we have to find a way to make more easy a bike that is phisically very demanding".

Alberto Martinelli (Sporting Director): "I want to thank Raffaele De Rosa for the result he was able to achieve in spite of the physical condition well far away from the best shape, after the crash he suffered on Saturday. I'm pleased to see that Hiroshi Aoyama not only got an excellent result, but also strengthened his leadership in the championship. We can get better results with Gabor, but still we are not able to find the best rider/bike relationship for all the race".
