GP DI SAN MARINO E DELLA RIVIERA DI RIMINI - Gara

Hiroshi Aoyama entered his box, got off the bike, and closed thumb and index to a small distance. He wanted to say: "I was so close from getting it". The computer says that less than 10 cm separated the two bikes. Less than a tyre. So, it was a fourth place for the championship leader. He loses three points on the second rider, but improves his advantage on the third.
Good race for De Rosa as well, in spite of an electronic problem, mysterious for two days, and fixed only on Sunday morning.
Gabor Talmacsi is testing different setups. He and his technicians solved a few problems, but still did not make that step ahead that can allow the Hungarian rider better performances.

Gabor Talmacsi
(MotoGP) 14th: "A three-part race. I was strong at the beginning, when I was able to catch Melandri. Then, a central part not good. And a better final part, when I was able to improve my lap times. Physically I felt good up to the end".

Hiroshi Aoyama (250cc) 4th: "My rhythm was better than Bautista's, but he put up a great fight, and overtaking was very difficult. The difference between the two of us on thwe finish line was determined by the difference in power. Anyway, a good race for us".

Raffaele De Rosa (250cc) 8th:
"Not bad, considering what happened in practice, when we suffered an electronic problem that we have been able to fix only during the warm-up. This means that we had not enough time to work as we wanted on the setup. So we have not been able to do better, in spite of the fact that tyres were quite good".

Emanuele Ventura (Technical Director): "Hiro got stuck behind slower riders, and this cost him a lot, and was a factor that influenced all the race. Raffaele had in practice an electronic problem, never experienced before, who compromised our work for a couple of sessions. We have just a bike per rider, and this is a risk. We are analyzing the data from Gabor's Honda. The result is not different from previous GPs, but he's better in controlling the bike. What we want is more consistency. We have a few ideas for Portugal".

Alberto Martinelli (Sporting Director):
“0,006 sec are nothing, but prevented us to get a deserved podium. Hiro did an excellent race, with great overtakings. Solid race for Raffaele, who was able to get several positions. We were convinced to be in a condition to help Gabor to do an important step ahead just in this race. We have still to improve”.
