GP di ESTORIL - Gara

Hiroshi Aoyama leaves Portugal in a stronger championship position. He was 13 points in front, before the race; now he's 26 ahead of the second, and 28 ahead of the third.
In the race, his bike was good, but not perfect: the Team Scot's rider reported he got from it a feeling different from the previous days. His crew is analyzing the data - anyway, Hiro's fourth place provided him with very precious points, with only three races to go.
Mixed feelings for Raffaele De Rosa. Good practice, qualifying and warm up, and even that bit of race before the crash was good. Then the crash, caused by a strange behaviour of the bike. Anyhow, the young Italian proved again his qualities, and the team is confident to see him on top next again, and for the entire race.
As far as MotoGP is concerned, after the race Gabor Talmacsi and his crew had a technical meeting to analize the data and find a way to prepare a bike that can provide the rider with a better feeling.

Gabor Talmacsi (MotoGP, 14th): "We are working hard, but practice, qualifying, race, we got always the same lap times all weekend. I do not receive the feeling I would like from the bike. For 5/6 laps I can stay with the others, but I struggle. And when I lose contact, my lap times drop. We must find a way to prepare a bike that gives me a good feeling".

Hiroshi Aoyama (250cc, 4th): "Since the first moments, my feeling was different from the one I got from the bike during practice and warm-up. I cannot indicate a clear reason for it. But the bike was moving, and shaking. The last thing I wanted was to crash - so, I settled at a safe pace. So, I cannot say I'm satisfied with the race, but nevertheless we got very important points and I'm absolutely conscious of it. Phillip island, where next race is scheduled, is one of my favourite tracks: I will try again".

Raffaele De Rosa (250cc, N.C.): "The 250cc race was scheduled, here in Portugal, at a time usually reserved to the 125cc bikes. And I've never been too lucky in the smaller class...
Until the crash, I enjoyed the race. I was able to find my way towards the first positions without any disturbance to the guys competing for the championship. Every passing was clear and safe. I was fast, and able to keep the pace of the leader. I cannot understand precisely the reason of the crash: the bike behaved in a way totally different from other laps, in that same point. I don't want to say that it was pure misfortune: there is always a rider on the bike, after all. Anyway, I proved all the weekend that I can fight with the best people. I'll try again in net race".

Alberto Martinelli (Sporting Director):
"De Rosa is doing better and better. Good. He's ready to compete at top level. Nothing to say about the crash: he had to try, he did, and that's OK.
Hiro: very good points for the championship. Our target, in the next races, is to be always on podium. He can do that, and he deserves that.
With Gabor, unfortunately, we are not able to find a setup that can allow him to get a better feeling from his bike. We have new ideas and we are going to try them in Australia".
