The SCOT RACING TEAM has been competing for years as a partner of Honda Corporation and a main character in the 250 World Bike Championship. Andrea Dovizioso, Yuki Takahashi, Hiroshi Aoyama and Raffaele De Rosa have been the Team's riders along the years. This season too the squad has proved to be able to top the class, providing the riders a very competitive bike. The Team, managed by Cirano Mularoni, has always wished to design a bike that could be expression of the know-how got from years of high-level competitions. This desire has been slowed down by the frenzy of the championships the team has been - and is - involved in, and by the extremely high costs connected with a system which required prototype bikes. With the Moto2 taking place in 2010 that spirit can come back and lead the team. Emanuele Ventura, Scot Racing Team's Technical Director, is the project leader. "The idea, the project, the making of the prototipe, the development of the bike, the long and demanding setting up, has seen a cooperation between the team itself and Rapid Inside NCS, a firm from Carpi (Italy). The bike sums up all the experience gained by the team in the 250 and MotoGP Championships". "We opted for this solution - designing our own Moto2 instead of buying one from a factory - because, although more demanding, allowed us to make use of our competencies. At the same time, we'll be able to be ultra-quick if radical changes should be required". "The frame is totally adjustable, as far as centre of gravity and any offset are concerned. Our target is to develop a well-balanced bike, competitive on any circuit, instead of one performing only in ideal conditions. The bike is ready to tackle the track, although some specifications are still to be settled”. The prototype is on show in the paddock, just in front of the Team Scot's hospitality. Frame GP209, engine CBR 600 Honda, Showa suspensions, Brembo brakes, Marchesini rims, Arrow exhaust, Acerbis saddle and Motoart fairing.
