A tough weekend for the RSM Scot Team, at the GP of Italy, on the hills of Tuscany. A promising performance in qualifying has not been repeated in race. Nevertheless, the third place got by Alex De Angelis on the grid must be considered an important step forward, while the team is ready to put in place a few more ideas coming from last week’s test.
Alex De Angelis: “Obviously, we wanted more, after the result got yesterday in qualifying. The point is that racing riders is quite different from racing the clock. We lack top speed: I was able to gain positions in the slow parts, but then I had to surround on the straight. We are working hard. We put all our effort in it. The results are not rewarding us. We have to discuss about it and find a solution double quick”.
Niccolò Canepa:” Mugello is probably the track I know better. I did thousand laps on it. I’m quite certain I’m able to tackle it properly. In other places I could have doubts, but not here. There is something important with the bike that must be changed. We have just to weeks before next race, and that is a very short time, but any effort must be done to find a solution and improve the situation”.
Cirano Mularoni: “True: we can get results on a single lap but not on a race distance. At the end of the extensive test carried out at Misano, we decided a number of changes to the bike. Not all the necessary parts are ready yet. We know where we have to work – even more now, having for the first time completed the race with both riders, and thus collecting further important data”
